“I have had the pleasure of knowing Margo Miguel since 2012. She was the lead pre-k homeroom teacher for three of my children at the Children’s Enrichment Center (CEC) in Jupiter.
Margo also taught Reading Rockets in an after school program throughout the school year and my children attended her Reading Rockets summer camp for five summers. One of my children even returned for a third summer of camp after he aged out because he loved it so much.
My children’s fondest memories of Reading Rockets camp are the plays they put on at the end of every week. The children worked all week to create a play based on a book they read and included reading rules throughout the production. They were each inspired to choose their own parts and then encouraged to create their own costumes with poster board, paints, beads, gems, pipe cleaner, etc. Creativity at its best for young minds. The children would be beaming when it came time for the show on Friday.
Margo takes teaching and inspiring children to read to a new level. All of my children had varying academic needs and she met them on their level and exposed them to material in a fun and explorative nature.
In most cases, I don’t think they realized they were even learning. Margo has the capacity to draw out children’s strengths and increase self-confidence so that children leave her classes glowing, happy and eager to learn.
I’ve been privileged to work alongside Margo on several occasions in the classroom. Along with the amazing curriculum she personally creates, her enthusiasm and love for learning is contagious. She not only loves what she does but she adores the children she works with. She has a passion to teach them and a desire to help all kids learn to read and excel in the best way they can.
